What this statement means is that just because many people do the same thing doesn't always mean that it is the right thing to do. In other words, that means that just because a lot of people do it doesn't mean you should do it either if it's bad. For example, if a lot of people speak the same bad language, doesn't mean you should do the same.Back then when people spoke bad languagethey were punished by having their mouth washed out with soap, to clean their language.
